Basic Blackjack Rules – Learn How to Play Blackjack
Dec 30
Some card games are easy to learn and understand. Blackjack is one such game. It is a simple card game where you have to get as close to 21 or to get 21 and you win. Most card games are simple to understand, but are very difficult to master. Blackjack can be played in casinos and online, which is why it is important to learn the rules. Blackjack in casinos is what we see in movies, but learning How to Play Blackjack Online is another matter, though still simple if you know the rules.
This is where we should start, the basic rules of blackjack.
Basic Blackjack Rules – The Object of the Game
The game has the players and the dealer. The dealer gives out cards to the player, and the object of the game is to hit the number 21, or to go as close to 21 as possible. The player who hits 21 or the one closest to 21 wins the round. If you end up above 21, you lose your bet and the dealer takes the money.
The goal also includes having a score closer to 21, closer than the dealer, the players can also win if the dealer goes above 21, also known as going bust. This is the very basic concept of blackjack, but it does not define how the game plays out. Here is what happens from start to finish.
Blackjack Playthrough – From Start to Finish
Blackjack has anywhere between 1 and 9 players at a table, depending on the casino, of course. Some casinos allow a minimum of 5 players to be at a table, with a maximum of 9 players. The standard 52-card deck is used, and depending on the number of players, between 1 and 8 decks are shuffled.
Each player places bets in the position boxes, which are marked 1 to 9. The dealer then deals two cards face up from left to right, the first position being known as first base and the last one known as third base. The dealer deals their own card face up, and the second card is drawn, face down, and is known as the hole card.
Players are then dealt cards, or rather, positions are, while players can choose to be hit, or rather, to take another card, or to stand, meaning that they are done with cards and they are waiting for other players to finish their turns.
Number cards are worth their own number, and kings, queens and jacks are worth 10 points. They are also known as face cards. The ace is worth either 1 point or 11 points, depending on what the player decides.
The dealer also deals cards for themselves until they reach 17 or a number over 17. If the dealer busts, every position wins. If the dealer does not bust, every position above the dealer but not above 21, wins. Every position under the dealer’s number loses.
With all that being said, Blackjack is a game that is very easy to understand, but it can be difficult to master.
