teehee! I have created a monster!! Today I put the code together that does the choosing for the upcoming contest that will be run on ALL CommentLuv enabled blogs (T&C apply).

Here’s a hint of how it’s going to go…

Any blog with the latest version of CommentLuv can register to take part. The prize goes to one of your readers! When a commentluv.com registered member comments on one of the blogs that has registered to take part then they have a chance that instead of their last blog post coming back, a winning notification will be in its place. Kind of like Willy Wonka’s golden ticket

As long as that comment gets submitted and approved (more details about how do deal with spam in the future) then the user can click their notification link and claim their prize.

There will be many many prizes, over $1000 dollars worth of cash prizes and gadgets like iPod speakers, noise reducing headphones from Vmoda, flash memory cards and more.

The purpose of the contest will be 4 fold…

1. Encourage blog owners to have the latest version of CommentLuv working and set with their CommentLuv.com member ID
2. Encourage commenters to register at CommentLuv.com and validate their URL and add some information to their profile
3. Promote my new ebay shop (that’s where the gadgets come from!)
4. Put the $350 WPMU contest prize money back to the folks who helped me win it and giving CommentLuv enabled blogs the chance to run a contest with great prizes for their readers at no cost to themselves (well, a post about you being in the list of blogs participating and how your readers can qualify by registering their URL with CommentLuv.com and entering a profile description would help!)

OK, so now you know something is coming… I still have to do these things before we can go ahead..

Code the registration page for blog owners.
Code the prize claim form.
Write up the rules and how-to’s
Write all the prize descriptions and upload images.

All people have to do to be in with a chance of winning is comment on the posts of CommentLuv enabled participants. This should really encourage the visitors of all CommentLuv blogs to get out there and comment some more! (spammers will be banned!)

Just time to do a post for the regular contest that goes on whenever there is a rollover on the Euromillion Lottery draw, just comment with your guess of 2 different numbers between 1 and 9 and if yours come up on this Fridays draw, you win a pair of these awesome Vmoda headphones.

Extended for one week!

Due to the Euromillions rolling over again this week (and my complete ineptitude for coming up with a subject for my next post) this contest is open until the 9th of May and all previous guesses that didn’t match for the last draw on the 2nd can carry over for this Friday 9th.

Good luck… I’m on a full calender of appointments this month so I might not be posting much during May, I’m still working behind the scenes on commentluv whenever I get a few minutes and the remote script is handling the load (it’s processed over 10,000 last blog posts in the past 7 days!!)

Oooo, I have exciting news! what started with a ponder on a wander by the river months ago has turned into something that has kept me up late at night for the past week. You see, I really like to run contests. I like the excitement it causes and I really like the interaction it creates. I want to take it to the next level. Just you wait until you see what I have got in store this weekend!

All I can say now is that real prizes and real money will be available to anyone and everyone who can use a mouse or cursor keys. All you need is a browser and internet connection. Hell, you don’t even need to register to enter. You will even have the chance to win real prizes by giving your own readers something really fun to do while they’re still on your blog, they can win prizes too and here’s the thing… if they win, so do you!

The site is called imgames.co.uk and it’s all ready to rock and roll, I’m just waiting for the nameservers around the globe to catch up with the change and it’ll be all on a dedicated server ready for the weekend. Some major additions to uVme have been made recently! There are now two more payment options for players to add to their playing account – Paypal and Netteller. This should make things a lot easier for those wanting to wager on games when they get good enough (or sending a challange to FiddyP and beating me!)

Another great thing is, you can now challenge for free. Signup to the site for free and you can send challenges to me or other folk you know by searching for their name on the pre-game screen and then send a challenge worth 0.00 .
