I don’t think you’re chances are good but I’m not a lawyer. If your contract said you needed to inform the company, you should have. Since you removed the equipment I have to assume you owned it. You do have a counter argument in that the company didn’t provide due diligence in noticing that the system was no longer working. Not good for an alarm monitoring company. You could argue that this shortcoming meant they weren’t doing their job and didn’t uphold their end of the contract. I don’t know how much they say you owe. It might be cheaper to pay them off and learn one of those “hard knock” lessons rather than hire a lawyer. They’re probably banking on this, but it’s a fact that you may come out ahead unless you can act as your own attorney and it doesn’t cost you to take the necessary time off from work.

I’m working on an alarm system for my car that probably work wonders on scammers. What I am trying to do is that once the thief has broken into the car all the doors lock and then it plays the following recording, “Oops, you have just broken into the wrong car! You have ten seconds to exit before the car explodes….Too Late” and then BOOOOM!!!

So far my only problem is getting the insurance companies to accept it. I can’t see what they are griping about as in the end we will have less thieves and they should save heaps on premiums.

All you have to do Andy is work out a way to electrocute the spammers.

Dennis: it usually passes within a day or two. I’ll gradually be phasing out the older versions after the release of the 2.0 final so that the v1.99 and ajax 2.0 use a new remote file.

someone is hammering the old version remote file, it’s had 220,000 hits today so that could be why it’s intermittent at times. this is why I am getting the ajax one and support site ready. spammers are the bane of my life, as well as those using the older version of the plugin using the older remote file on a blog that hasn’t been updated to the latest version and to top it all, not using an antispam plugin.

with the new version, I’ll be able to monitor the hammerings and prevent it from having such an effect.

it is spam saturday after all!
