Google update snips a point off here and there

google update

It looks like Google did a page rank update recently and it’s not as vicious as the last one where many blogs were stamped with a multi-point decrease. Fiddyp got a single point dropped on the main page, down from 5 to 4. The CommentLuv plugin page has still retained it’s PR5 at least.

My elottery site actually went up to a 4 from 2 (it used to be 5 though!) and a couple of my other sites had a small increase. Even an old blog that has had a “site moved” on it for months went up a couple of points.

How did you fair?

None of my sites went up, one went down, but one also got nicely indexed with a lot of the deep pages having pagerank :)

No changes in my end either!
Will that affect FiddyP in anything?

rhys: I seem to have more pages indexed on google too. I’m pretty sure my lack of socializing on the web while I’ve been so busy was a factor in the main page going down. It’s no biggy though, got plenty of other things that are moving on nicely!

Mira: it shouldn’t affect anything here, I’ll get around to doing a spring clean soon. lol, every time I say that I get another contract!

As long as you are still #1 as fiddyp on google search, that’s all it matters :)

On the last update I went from a 4 to 0 and I am still PR0, so it hasn’t affected me at all. At least I don’t have to worry about them kicking me while I’m down as I can’t go any lower.

sire: lol, it’ll be a pain if they could give negative PR!

I wonder what it takes to gain blogs in google as these changes can be very significant to the traffic the blog gets. Do you know why the PR changes?

sire: I am pretty sure they wont go that far (or will they?) lol

vivian: if I knew then I’d made a bundle on SEO services!

Nicole: I think having a badge for pay per post is like a hex to PR. That’s what got many high PR sites stung last time around

Hi Andy! I remain at 0 of course. It seems like almost 40,000 incoming links would get me a PR1…doesn’t it? Haha…I have absolutely no idea why they shafted me. Overall, it still hasn’t affected my natural search engine queries.

It is happening today. My blog’s PR is 2, while it was 3.
