After deciding to take the day off, I managed to play a Jedi mind trick on myself. With all the pressure off for creating, my juices started flowing!
I have now updated the CommentLuv WordPress plugin to work with WP2.7rc1
It was working before but not if you wanted to change the settings. I’ve fixed that now and added some extra checks to the javascript so it shouldn’t need any more editing of the settings other than to enter the commentluv member id number.
You can download the very latest version of CommentLuv 2.6 here
It’s a beta version so you only need to download this one if you have 2.7 WordPress and you need to change the settings. Otherwise, wait for the big update to 2.7 when it happens in the new year!

I love your commentluv. It is a great Idea. Encouraging commentators
to comment on your blog. In exchange display their latest posting.
I would suggest that in your new version, to allow the commentator’s posting to be open in a new tab in Firefox or new Window in IE . This way the existing blog is still open .

Got it all working now, took me a while to find this post with the updated 2.6 version.
Doesn’t show up when you use the auto install feature in wordpress 2.7.

I’ve noticed a huge difference in the number and quality of comments after I installed CommentLuv. Especially when people see I approve comments that are of value in bot information and aren’t simply one liners that want to get links back to their site.
I would encourage anyone who has a blog to seriously consider installing the CommentLuv plugin and at least consider removing the nofollow tag. Sure you might get a few spam comments, but you can always delete these instead of approving. Remember, comments are content for your site, fresh content, and if the person leaving the comment has written something of value then it can help when the search spiders crawl your site for fresh content.

I happened to be commenting for the first time on a blog I had just discovered yesterday, and saw the blurb at the bottom mentioning me and….wait for it….. MY LAST BLOG POST!
I nearly fell out of my chair when I noticed that! Like….”HOW DID THEY DO THAT….How do they even know that I have a blog, let alone our (my wife’s) last post!”
